My Homemade Lasagna

An amazing lasagna that is wonderful for any occasion!

Total: 60 min
Cook: 35 min
Yields: 4-6 serving

Ingredients:

1 box lasagna noodles
1 tbsp olive oil
1 large container of cottage cheese, low-fat
1 bag mozzarella cheese, shredded, or more if you like it cheesy
¼ cup Parmesan cheese

Sauce:

1 lb of turkey burger
4 tbsp Italian seasoning
2 chopped garlic cloves
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
1 jar Prego Spinach & Fontina sauce, my favorite

Directions:

Heat a medium pot of water for the lasagna noodles, add in the tablespoon of oil into the water till it comes to a boil. Once the water is boiling, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package. Once done, strain and set a side till we are done with the sauce.

For the sauce: In a medium sauté pan add in 2 chopped garlic cloves and cook for roughly 1 minute. Add in your turkey burger and chop up till nice and browned. Then add in the salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Next pour in the jar of Prego Spinach & Fontina sauce. Mix together and turn the heat to low for about 5 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350’ F. Spray your 9×13 baking pan with a little cooking spray.

In the meantime, set up your station to make your lasagna. Cooked lasagna noodles, then your sauce, the cottage cheese, and then a little mozzarella cheese.

First put a layer of lasagna noodles, next a couple spoons of your yummy sauce, a couple spoons of cottage cheese and spread it around to cover that layer. Next add a little mozzarella cheese. You will then start the next layer, lasagna noodles, then your sauce, the cottage cheese, and then a little mozzarella cheese. I normally do 3 layers. Then top with a little more cheese.

Once your all done, add about ¼ cup parmesan cheese to the top and toss in the oven for about 35 minutes.  The edges should be brown and crispy and the sauce should be bubbly!

Once you pull it out of the oven, let sit for 5 minutes to let all the flavors settle. Next, Enjoy!
