Total: 30 min
Cook: 10 min
Yields: 4 servings
8 slices of bacon
2 lbs. of ground chuck
4 Pineapple rings, canned
½ cup your favorite BBQ sauce
1 tablespoon liquid smoke
Salt and pepper to taste
4 brioche buns (best bun ever for a burger!)
Lettuce, tomato, pickle (or anything you want on your burger)
PREHEAT oven at 400’F
You can do these on the grill for a nice smokey flavor or bake them in the oven! Directions for both are below!
If doing in the oven: Line a large backing sheet with aluminum foil and place a cooling rack on top of the aluminum foil.
If doing them on the grill: Use a cutting board to assemble.
In a large bowl, mix together the ground chuck, liquid smoke and BBQ sauce. Shape the beef into 4 patties. Season the patties with salt and pepper.
Place two strips of bacon to make a “X” shape (if baking in the oven, place them on the cooling rack located on the large baking sheet. This helps the bottom of the bacon get crispy as well.) Place the hamburger patty on the center of each “X”, place a pineapple ring on the top of each patty.
Wrap the patties in a crisscross fashion by folding up the ends of the strips of the bacon. Use a toothpick in the center to help secure the bacon.
Repeat with the remaining burgers. Place on the grill or on the cooling rack located on the large baking sheet.
GRILL: Place burgers on the grill and grill till they are to your liking!
BAKE IN OVEN: Bake the burgers until the patties and bacon are cooked to your liking. For extra-crispy bacon, place the patties under the broiler for 3 to 5 minutes after the burgers are done to your liking.
