Little Italy! So close to home!
As most of you know that is all we think about is food! We saw Zia’s on TV one night and thought, “Wow! We must try this place!” I am part Italian and no one makes it better than my grandmother, even though she is English which is weird! 🙂 So let’s see what they got!
Zia’s is located in the “Little Italy” part of St. Louis, where even the fire hydrants are painted to look like the Italian flag. It is such a fun part of town.
When we arrived they were very busy. We waited roughly 45 min, but that was okay cause we were not in to big of a hurry. We sat down with a couple glasses of wine and the kids had soda and we just enjoyed the environment around us.
When we were seated we started off with:
Toasted Ravioli
Topped with parmigiana and served with marinara sauce
Arancini
Seasoned risotto rolled with Italian cheese and salsiccia, lightly breaded and fried, served with marinara
For our main meals we had:
Ravioli
Traditionally prepared
Spaghetti
With Marinara
Piccata
Thinly sliced veal, lightly breaded and charbroiled, topped with a white wine lemon butter sauce with mushrooms and capers
Capellini Alla Zia
Capellini tossed with olive oil, butter and garlic with shrimp, sundried tomatoes and green onion
If you love authentic Italian (not Olive Garden) then Zia’s is a must!
Please, we would love to know what you think!
